Birthday's and Football

Hey All! Well this house is abuzz today, the morning of the Superbowl. Scott's Steelers are in the big game, and he and Jack are ready to wear their black and gold today (see photo). We will be (hopefully) celebrating victory with some friends of ours and Jack's, as they have a one-year old son too. Speaking of one-year olds, Jack celebrated his first birthday last weekend and what a weekend it was!

Saturday was spent going to the park, opening a few gifts and eating our first bites of cake with mom, dad and nana. The video below is Jack tasting his birthday cake, and as you will see, while he likes the cake and ice cream (you didn't think we would get him anything but Baskin Robbins mint chocolate chip ice cream and chocolate cake did you?), he isn't too sure about the temperature and texture of it, so mama does the dirty work of actually touching it. Jack got into it later though, smearing and licking his high chair (see photo) when there was just chocolate cake left. He then smeared it in his hair, so we added a birthday eve bath to the agenda.

Sunday was spent opening some more gifts, going to another park, and eating cake. Jack cannot get enough of the outdoors, so we thought we would do what he loves the most, the park and his rock garden in the front yard. It was a very relaxing day for the 3 of us as we reflected back on the year it has been and how proud and happy we are with our little boy. We know he has brought the same love and joy to many of you. We included a couple more pictures, one of just the birthday boy, as well as one of the three of us on the big day.

Love to all,
J, J & S
